Matthew 25:21 and repeated in verse 25:23

‘His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’’

As John Bunyan chronicled the journey of Christian from his hometown called, ‘The City of Destruction to his great reward called, ‘The Celestial City,’ Christain did not necessarily travel alone. For many pilgrims came to join him because they also were seeking their eternal bliss in the great Celestial City too.

In the same way, we Christians may also journey together in our spiritual walk with God. This is called fellowship and I am inviting you to come along with me. My task and focus are to use my spiritual gifts, talents, relationships, and experiences to glorify my God in the way He is leading.

For me, I am looking for God’s door of opportunity that only He can open or shut. God blesses us all with gifts and talents and we are to use our gifts and talents for his kingdom’s growth. This is shown in Matthew 25 in Jesus’ “Parable of the Talents”. I, for one, do not want to be judged like the servant who was given only one talent and went to bury and hide the talent, instead of investing the talent at the bank to earn interest for the master. The master returned to have his servants give an account of their investments. The servant who did not invest was judged horribly: for he was cast into outer darkness, to a place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 25:30). How dreadful. I may be an old man. I may be retired and a widower, but I am not dead … God has blessed me with many gifts and talents. I must devote all my gifts to His glory and serve Him.

The Apostle Paul said for us to imitate him as he imitates Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). And I am by no means anything near worthy like the Apostle Paul; nevertheless, I do encourage you to please join me at ‘imamessytaco.com’ so we can grow together in our devotion to Christ, in the knowledge of Christ though Scripture, and in our quest for holiness to honor and glorify Him at His command: ‘be holy for I am holy’ (Leviticus 21:8; Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 1:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:7).

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
